View looking at the undersurface of the acromion (shoulder tip) showing an anterior acromial spur
The bone spur is excised and the undersurface of the shoulder tip bone (acromion) is made
flat with high speed shaver as seen in the picture.
The acromioclavicular joint can be excised arthroscopically as shown preserving the
superior ligaments of the joint and thereby creating a gap between the end of the clavivle
and the acromion. The excised lateral end of the clavicle is seen on the left of the
picture and the shaver is visible.
